Set up and manage service charges

Learn how to set up service charges that are automatically applied at checkout to help cover additional business costs.

How service charges work

  1. Service charges can be applied automatically at checkout or added manually.
  2. They can be a fixed amount or percentage of the sale total.
  3. Service charges only apply to in-person checkouts, not online payments.

Set up service charges

  1. From the menu on the left of your screen, go to Settings.
  2. Click on the Sales category and then select Service charges from the left menu panel.
  3. Click on the Add button in the top right to create a new service charge.
  4. In the Add a service charge view, add the name and description under Basic info.
  5. Under Rate type, choose how the service charge is calculated.
  6. Under Settings, choose how the service charge will be applied.
  7. Under Apply the service charge on, choose whether it applies to the Full sale value or Selected item types.
  8. Click on the Add button in the top right to save.

Manage service charges at checkout

  1. Open an existing appointment from your Calendar.
  2. Click on the Checkout button at the bottom.
  3. Select the Service charge at the bottom of the right panel to edit or remove it.
  4. Select a payment method and click Pay now to complete the sale.

Manually apply a service charge at checkout

  1. Open an existing appointment from your Calendar.
  2. Click on the Checkout button at the bottom.
  3. Click on Quick actions (three dots), then select Add Service charge.
  4. In the pop-up, select an existing service charge from the list.
  5. Select a payment method and click Pay now to complete the sale.
