Customize notification templates
Personalize your email and SMS notification messages with your brand voice, custom text, and dynamic appointment details.
How notification templates work
- Notification templates are the pre-built message formats sent to clients for confirmations, reminders, cancellations, and follow-ups. You can customize these to match your brand tone and include relevant appointment details using dynamic variables.
Edit an email template
- From Settings > Notifications, select the notification type you want to customize.
- Click Edit template next to the email notification.
- Update the Subject line and Message body using the editor.
- Use dynamic variables (e.g. {client_name}, {date}, {time}) to personalize each message.
- Preview the message to check how it will appear to clients.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Edit an SMS template
- From Settings > Notifications, select the SMS notification type.
- Click Edit template next to the SMS notification.
- Keep the message concise — SMS messages have a character limit.
- Use dynamic variables to include appointment-specific details.
- Click Save.
Longer SMS messages may be split into multiple texts, which uses more credits.
Use dynamic variables
- Dynamic variables are placeholders that are automatically replaced with real data when the notification is sent.
- Common variables include: {client_name}, {business_name}, {service_name}, {staff_name}, {date}, {time}, {location}.
- Insert variables directly into the template editor by typing them or clicking the variable picker in the toolbar.
