When to use email vs SMS

  1. Email: best for newsletters, longer offers, service announcements, and visual content.
  2. SMS: best for short reminders, last-minute deals, and time-sensitive flash offers.
  3. SMS open rates are typically 90%+, but message length is limited to 160 characters.
  4. Always include an opt-out option (reply STOP) on SMS to comply with regulations.
Use email for engagement and SMS for urgency. Combining both for big promotions usually performs best.
